Ground whitetail venison, sauteed jalapeño peppers, onions, mushrooms and garlic. Seasoned with the above. Steamed broccoli drizzled in olive oil and sprinkled with fresh ground salt, on the side.
My supper > your supper.

If I knew I was going to be doing this much cooking at home, i would have dug out my grandmothers cast iron pan.

This extended quarantine has made me very much regret not being serious about deer season last year. I only went out twice so there is no fresh venison in my freezer...

We had a real Tex-Mex meal with fish tacos, potato salad, and I tried cooking something I’ve never made before: hushpuppies!
I was going to batter and fry the fish, but my wife wanted it pan-seared instead. My taste buds were set on something really fried, so I decided to give hushpuppies a shot. The first batch was rather flat, so I had to thicken the batter a bit to get them rounder. I also needed more oil in the pan. Lessons learned.
They tasted fantastic.

Thanks. I think we have a waffle iron around here somewhere, but who knows where it can be found.
